Mashambanzou Care Trust (MCT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Enock Musungwini as its new Director, effective 1 August 2026. Mr Musungwini takes over at an important time as MCT prepares to develop and implement its next five-year strategic plan from 2027-2031. His appointment is expected to strengthen the organisation’s strategic leadership, partnerships, resource mobilisation and programme impact. He joins MCT after five years of distinguished service as Programme Manager at Pangaea Zimbabwe, where he provided leadership in programme design and management, research, advocacy, resource mobilisation, partnership development, capacity strengthening and organisational development. Mr Musungwini holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom studied through the prestigious Chevening scholarship, a Master of Business Administration, a BSc Honours Degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Nursing Science. He has also undertaken postgraduate training in leadership, management, public health, health financing, research, and monitoring and evaluation. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health, specialising in Health Policy and Financing. He brings extensive experience in public health, evidence-based programming, advocacy and organisational leadership, as well as professional networks that will support collaboration, innovation and knowledge sharing which will open new avenues for MCT as an organisation. Mashambanzou Care Trust was established in Harare in 1989 through the vision of the Little Company of Mary Sisters of the Roman Catholic Church, led by Sr Noreen Nolan. Over the years, MCT has grown from its early beginnings into a comprehensive, community-centred organisation working to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable communities. Today, MCT operates across Harare Metropolitan Province urban and peri urban areas, Zvimba and Goromonzi Districts, implementing programmes focused on health, community strengthening, human rights, support for vulnerable children and families and institutional development. MCT remains committed to its vision of AIDS-free, resilient and empowered communities, working alongside communities, government, donors, development partners, faith-based organisations and other stakeholders . As Mr Musungwini assumes his new role, MCT also extends its sincere appreciation to outgoing Director Mrs Chigwamba for her dedicated service and leadership for over 5 years. Her contribution strengthened the organisation’s programmes and laid a foundation upon which MCT will continue to build.
